The Dublin Book Festival begins today, Tuesday 13th November, in Dublin with travel writer Dervla Murphy in an event titled Inspiring Lives, Inspiring Stories. The festival runs throughout the week until Sunday 18th November and will include a huge variety of writers, artists, and presenters in a lively selection of debates, workshops, readings and book launches. There will be something for everyone from ‘Write your own Comic Book’ for children to ‘Current Affairs with Vincent Browne’ and should be interesting, fun and informative!
Jamie O’Connell will be involved in the Bilingual Emerging Writers event on Sunday afternoon at 4.30pm in Smock Alley Theatre. He will read from his short story collection Some Sort of Beauty, his very popular, enjoyable and highly praised first book. O’Connell’s event is free as are many of the other events at the festival and should be well worth taking the time to attend.
